Threading - ITCU

To assemble the thread

Caution: the Coloreel ITCU must be threaded correctly for the product to operate correctly. Make sure that you follow the instructions in this manual carefully

This article will cover the following points:

  1. To place the thread on the Thread Reel Holder
  2. To assemble the thread through the Entry Feeder
  3. To assemble the thread through the Print Engine
  4. To assemble the thread through the Fixation Module
  5. To assemble the thread through the Lubrication Module and Exit Feeder

To place the thread on the Thread Holder

  • Push the reel holder towards you until it locks with a click

  • Place a spool of thread on the Thread Holder

  • Pull the thread through the Entry Hole (A) and push the Thread Holder back in place426.png

To assemble the thread through the Entry Feeder

Note: Refer to our manuals to see where this part is on the Coloreel ITCU.

  • Pull the thread through the eyelet.
  • Turn the Knob (B) fully clockwise to open the thread path.
  • Turn the Tension Knob (C) counterclockwise to loosen the tension.
  • Put the thread between the washers on the Guide Wheel (C, D) and pull the thread down and against you until the washer moves back into position.
  • Turn the Tension Knob clockwise to tighten the guide wheel. Tighten the knob fully, and then loosen it 3 full turns (3x360°) counterclockwise.
  • Pull the tread over the first pin and then under the second pin.
  • Pull the thread between the entry feeder's guide wheel (E) and the drive wheel (F). Pull the
    thread 1.5 turns around the guide wheel (E).  Refer to the illustration.
  • Pull the thread 1.5 turns around the encoder wheel (G).

To assemble the thread through the Print Engine

Note: Refer to our manuals to see where this part is on the Coloreel ITCU.

  • Push the snap lock and remove the Ink Residual Cup. Remove all 4 Ink Residual Cups.

  • Pull the thread through the Print Engine and the two guide pins (A) and ensure the thread is put in the guide track.
  • Make sure that the thread is on the inside of the Thread Damper (B).

  • Install the 4 Ink Residual Cups again.

To assemble the thread through the Fixation Module

Note: Refer to our manuals to see where this part is on the Coloreel ITCU.

  • Put the thread under the Air Fixation Unit (A).
  • Pull the thread through the guide wheels (B).

  • Pull the thread in front of the Contact Fixation Module (C).
  • Pull the thread on the left side of the guide wheel (D).

To assemble the thread through the Washing Module

  • Push the lever (A) to lift the top of the Washing Module

  • Pull the thread through the notch of the lid (B).
  • Put the thread below and in the tracks of the Guide Wheels (C) and above the Guide Wheel (E) in the Washing Module.

  • Push the lever (A) to lower the top of the Washing Module.

To assemble the thread through the Lubrication Module and Exit Feeder

Note: Refer to our manuals to see where this part is on the Coloreel ITCU.

  • Turn the knob fully clockwise (A) to open the thread path.

  • Pull the thread on the right side of the Exit Encoder Wheel (B).
  • Pull 50 cm of thread through the Exit Feeder (C).
  • Hold and turn the knob fully counterclockwise (A) to close the thread path.

Note: Do not let go of the knob when you turn it. If you let go of the knob, it can cause the thread to break.

  • Remove the Lubrication Module (D) and pull the thread through the eyelet.
  • Put the thread on the lubrication wheel and through the Lubrication Module (D).
  • Put the Lubrication Module (D) back in its position.
  • Pull the thread under the guide pin, through the eyelet, and on the left side of the last guide pin.
  • Pull the thread through the Exit Hole.
  • Turn the knob (E) on the Entry Feeder to close the thread path.
