Print head check June 02, 2023 09:58 Updated This check control if the print heads are working and that the position calibration of the print heads are correct. Prepare pieces of coated paper. Remove the four Ink Residual Cups. Set the printer to "Before Print" - Service Tool - Manual control - Print motors card. To check if the print heads are jetting properly. Hold a piece of paper Between the print head and the thhread Click the Spit button for the color where the paper is. (if paper covers all four printer heads, click Spit All. Service Tool - Manual control - Printer maintenance card The paper shows a line of ink sprayed from each printer head. The lines should be solid and without gaps. If a line is missing or with gaps this indicates that the print heads are not jetting correctly. For a more detailed check, execute a nozzle check, see separate article. To check the print heads position calibration Hold a piece of paper under the thread Click the Spit button for the color where the paper is. (if paper covers all four printer heads, click Spit All. Service Tool - Manual control - Printer maintenance card Click the Capping button to cap the print heads again. Service Tool - Manual control - Print motors card Study the paper.
