Verifying the color accuracy of an Coloreel design file (CSE) May 04, 2023 13:48 Coloreel has developed a Gamut Soft Proofing tool in the Coloreel Studio software to examine the color quality of the Coloreel design file (CSE) The Soft Proofing tools, available in Coloreel Studio, will help ensure the design is robust and ready to print. How to use the Gamut soft proofing tool Open the CSE design file in the free Coloreel Studio software If the CSE file is correctly constructed, the design will be visible in the design workspace. Once the design is opened, this toolbar is visible on the lower left side of the software. Clicking the Gamut icon brings up the GamutTool dialog, showing all colors applied to the design timeline. The GamutTool examines the colors and assesses whether the color is possible to print (Inside of the gamut) or if the color is Outside of the gamut; hence it is not possible to print with correct values. The GamutTool will also propose a new color for output that is inside of the gamut and possible to print successfully. The GamutTool is divided into two areas; the left gives the Input Colors (the LAB values of the color chosen with the color picker), and the right side provides the LAB with values that will be outputted to the CSE file when saving. In the image above, two colors are marked as being Outside. To secure the correct color, check each color's "Accept Change?" box and click the DONE button. This will edit the color values to be valid and printable. When done, close the dialog by clicking the red X at the top right corner. You can also choose to accept all changes by selecting the checkmark "Accept All Changes" beside the "DONE" button. Note: If you choose not to accept the new color values, the ITCU software will change the color values when you start the printing of the color file. This information is also available as part of the video lessons at Coloreel Academy. Comments 0 comments Please sign in to leave a comment.
