Verifying the color placement of a Coloreel design file (CSE) August 21, 2024 08:22 Updated Coloreel has developed a Soft Proofing tool in the Coloreel Studio software to simulate worst-case scenarios of variations in Color Change Precision (CCP) The Soft Proofing tools, available in Coloreel Studio, will help ensure the design is robust and ready to print. Open the CSE design file in the free Coloreel Studio software If the CSE file is correctly constructed, the design will be visible in the design workspace. Once the design is opened, this toolbar is visible on the lower left side of the software. The CCP Soft Proofing tools "CCP MIN" and "CCP MAX" icons are in the middle of the bottom row. Selecting "CCP MIN" lets you see how the design turns out if the color change comes early. Click the "CCP MIN" icon again to deactivate the simulation. Selecting "CCP MAX" lets you see how the design turns out should the color change come late. Click the "CCP MAX" icon again to deactivate the simulation. The CCP accuracy setting is adjustable. Use the default setting (25 cm) to simulate the worst-case scenario with a standard embroidery machine setup. If you use a high-precision embroidery machine equipped with controlled thread tension or active thread feeding, the color change precision is narrower, and you can set the soft-proofing to be more narrow (10 cm). Note! The CCP Soft Proofing Tool does not adjust the design color file. You must manually adjust the color change position or add more space for CCP deviation by adding appropriate underlay stitching in your embroidery design software. This information is also available in the Basic Operator and Advanced Operator training courses as a video lesson. Lesson: Embroidery quality - Color placement. The Coloreel Studio and Digitizing course has more detailed lessons: CCP - Basic and CCP Advanced. All those video lessons and much more can be found at Coloreel Academy.
