Tajima DG software - Edit a Coloreel Stripe Swatch March 30, 2023 14:04 How to Edit a Coloreel Stripe Swatch in an existing library Click the Menu Bar - Manage - Coloreel Libraries to open the list of available Swatch Libraries. Select the library to edit and click Open. The swatch library will open as a tab in the design workspace with designated tools to manage swatches. With those tools, you can add, insert, delete, import, and edit swatches. You can also move the order of swatches and rename the Library name. Select a Striped Swatch to edit. Click (or double-click the Swatch) to bring up the Swatches dialog. This effect Swatches dialog will appear: From this dialog, you can see a preview and edit the existing striped swatch by changing the colors There are four different types of effects available. Gradients will convert the Striped preview to show the same colors with gradient transitions. Gradient type is covered in this separate article. This article will cover the different Stripe effects. Percentage: The amount of each color will be based on a percentage of the overall length. Length: The extent of each color in the pattern is determined by an absolute, linear measure; when the pattern en is reached, it repeats. Noise: In a "Noise" style swatch, the lengths of the bands of color will vary randomly in the pattern, within the bounds determined by the upper and lower length limits. Percentage Stripe Click the Percentage radio button, and the dialog will expand to show additional properties on the right side. You can edit the colors in the right pane by clicking on each Color cell. You can manually set the percentage by clicking on each Percentage cell. Dragging the color square at the preview image will also change the Percentage number. To edit a color, right-click the color square beneath the preview and click Edit. Choose the library from the Swatch picker dialog appearing. Click the Swatch you want to use, the dialog will close, and the Swatches dialog will be updated with the new color. The Save Swatch dialog appearing will let you save the new Stripe swatch to the open library. If you keep the name from the swatch you opened, it will overwrite it. Giving the swatch a new name will add a new swatch to the library. You can mirror the stripe colors by clicking the "Flip" button. You can add new colors to the gradient by right-clicking the preview strip where you want the new color or by clicking the. Add color from the Swatch picker. You can add up to eight colors between the start and end, giving you up to ten shades. You can control how colors are distributed by dragging a color square inside the preview strip. Clicking the "Distribute evenly" button will place the colors at an exact distance on the preview strip. To remove a color from the gradient, right-click the color square and choose "Remove." Click OK to apply the edits, and a Save Swatch dialog will appear where you can choose a name for the edited Swatch. Click OK again to save and return to the Library tab. Click Save (Ctrl+S) to save the Library. Length Stripe An absolute, linear measure determines the extent of each color in the pattern; when the pattern end is reached, it repeats. Select each cell in the "Length mm" column to set the length you want to assign each color. Click the Length radio button, and the dialog will expand to show additional properties on the right side. You can edit the colors in the right pane by clicking the Color cell for the color you want to edit. You can manually set the length of each color by clicking on each cell. Dragging the color square at the preview image will also change the Length number. To edit a color from the preview pane, right-click the color square and click Edit. These limits can be adjusted for each color by entering the desired values into the "Max width" and "Min with" fields. Click the Noise radio button, and the dialog will expand to show additional properties on the right side. Set the Min width and the Max with values of the limits you want each color to have. To edit a color, click the Color cell for the color you want to edit. Choose the library and swatch from the appearing dialog. Click the Swatch you want to use, the dialog will close, and the Swatches dialog will be updated with the new color. To add a color, click the + button on the right side, and a new color will be added. You can edit it by clicking the Color cell for the new color and the Min and Max cells for the limits. You can add as many colors as you wish. You can mirror the stripe colors by clicking the "Flip" button. To remove a color from the Noise stripe, select the color and click the - button on the right side. Click OK to save the edits, and a Save Swatch dialog will appear where you can choose a name for the edited Swatch. A new name will save it as a new swatch; the same name will overwrite the swatch you edited. Click OK again to save and return to the Library tab. Click Save (Ctrl+S) to save the Library.
