Tajima DG software - Applying Coloreel Swatches to Embroidery or Text Segments February 26, 2024 08:11 Updated How to bring unlimited Coloreel color to your design. With the DG Coloreel add-on, you can apply unlimited colors to your design. Solid, Gradient, and Striped swatches can be used to color outline segments and stitch segments. The Coloreel tool icons are located in the design workspace's lower-right corner. You can choose to use swatches from Coloreel Libraries available in the software and create or import swatches to built-in or custom libraries. Instructions for creating and importing swatches and libraries are covered in a separate article available here... Depending on what kind of effect you want to create, there are two different Coloreel tools that you can use: Solid color and Gradient or Stripe effect. Tip: Applying a single Coloreel Swatch to multiple segments. If you want to apply a single Coloreel swatch to several segments in your design, it is highly recommended that you group the segments beforehand. This is because when a swatch is applied to several segments, any editing you do to one of the segments will remove the Coloreel swatch color(s) from all segments after stitches are regenerated. On the other hand, if you apply the swatch to grouped segments, the swatch color(s) will be retained after editing. How to apply a solid color Use the Solid color tool to apply a single color. Open an embroidery design and select a segment. Click the Coloreel Solid color icon to bring up the Coloreel Swatch Picker. On the Library drop-down, select the Swatch Library you want to use. From the array of color swatches in the main panel, choose the color you want to use. The selected solid swatch will now be applied to your selected segment. Save the design. How to apply a Gradient or Stripe effect Open an embroidery design and select a segment. Click the Coloreel Gradient/Striped tool to apply a variable color. In this option, the color will change along the length of the thread. How the color change will be applied will depend on the mode: Gradient, Length, Percentage, or Noise effect with two or more colors. Click the Charts button on the Coloreel Swatches color dialog and choose an available Coloreel color library chart. The Swatches dialog expands to include a field listing the available Coloreel color library charts. From the list of Coloreel charts, you can choose the chart you want to use. Preview images of available Gradient or Striped swatches from the selected chart will appear in the space below the dialog. Select the specific Coloreel swatch you want to apply to the segment. Click Apply. In the design workspace, you will see that the swatch has been applied to the selected segment. Click Close to close the dialog and return to design editing. Tip: Editing and Saving Swatches. Note that you can use the "Swatches dialog to edit existing Coloreel swatches or create entirely new ones. For example, you can open a swatch and use the slider controls to adjust its color proportions and thread colors. You can then press the Save button at the bottom of the dialog to save the swatch to one of the existing Coloreel swatch libraries. For details on editing the Gradient and Striped swatches' parameters, please look at the corresponding procedures in the Editing Coloreel Swatches and Libraries article.
